Understanding Terms & Conditions
Terms and Conditions (T&C) are a crucial framework of legally binding terms that define the relationship between BlueNote Vocals and its website visitors or clients. These terms set the legal boundaries for activities on the website, aiming to establish a clear legal relationship online and on premises.
Key Elements of T&C
These terms and conditions apply to all lessons provided by BlueNote Vocals online and in person. By booking a lesson, students agree to adhere to these terms and conditions.

1. Communication & Media
1.1 Contact: The preferred method of contact is via email as phones are generally not accessible during lessons or in use after hours. You will also receive communication, important information and lesson updates via email.
1.2 Email Newsletter: Occasionally information is sent out via an email newsletter. These generally contain a summary of lessons and contain important information for the term ahead. You are welcome to opt out of this at any time.
1.3 Marketing Images: Occasionally images or videos from lessons may be taken and/or used for marketing purposes. All images are used in accordance with the legal guidelines and e-safety practices. (N.B. Images of children under 16 are not used for marketing purposes without specific consent from legal guardian)
2. Individual Lessons:
2.1 Recording Lessons: You are welcome to make an audio recording of lessons on any device. You may record a portion of the lesson or lesson in entirety but are not permitted to distribute or repurpose the material for any reason other than private practice.
2.2 Lesson Times + Lateness: Lessons run close to or on time so please make sure you arrive a few minutes beforehand (either in person or in online waiting room). If you are late to a lesson by more than 5 minutes unfortunately that time is forfeited however all effort will be made to make up that time during the scheduled lesson if possible.
2. 3 The student understands when buying a one time lesson that the amount of individual lessons are at full price according to the website and buying packed lessons are discounted.
2. 4 All lessons must be paid prior to all lessons via website using PayPal, bank transfer or in person on the day
2. 5 BlueNote Vocals will assume lessons are in person unless told otherwise by the client. It is the clients responsibility to let BlueNote Vocals know which option they prefer for lesson so we can prepare links to zooms or teams lessons.

3. 4x Lesson Packages

3. 3 The student understands when buying a 4x lesson package that it is at a discounted price compare to individually purchasing one lesson at a time.
3. 4 All lessons must be paid prior to all lessons via website using PayPal, bank transfer or in person on the day
3.5 BlueNote Vocals will assume lessons are in person unless told otherwise by the client. It is the clients responsibility to let BlueNote Vocals know which option they prefer for lesson so we can prepare links to zooms or teams lessons.

3. Cancellations & Reschedules
3.1 Cancellations: Cancellations must be communicated in writing via email at least 24-hrs prior to the lesson commencement. Text messages and phone calls are not accepted as cancellations messages as phones are not checked during teaching hours. 3.2 Last Minute Cancellations & No-Shows: Unfortunately, lessons that are missed or cancelled with less than 24-hrs notice are forfeited lessons and will incur the standard lesson fee and will not be refunded.
3.3 Reschedules and Make Up lessons: Lessons that are cancelled or rescheduled ahead of time will be made up at a mutually agreed upon time or a credit given towards the following lesson.

4. Lesson Payment:
4.1 Payment: Lessons payment must be made in advance of your lesson under the following conditions:
4. 2 Regular weekly/fortnightly lessons: An invoice is sent out at the start of the term (school-aged lessons) or a specified amount is charged to your payment method according to your lesson package and subscription (adult lessons). Payment of invoices is required within 14 days of issue and missed payments may result in lesson cancellations unless prior arrangements have been made. If you prefer to pay for lessons individually, please make contact us via email and arrange this separately.
5. Payment Processing:
5. 1 BlueNote Vocals uses PAYPAL for secure payment processing.
5. 2 PayPal submits refunds to your bank immediately once issued. Depending on the bank's processing time, it can take anywhere from 5-10 business days to appear in your bank account
5.3 Refunds for cancellations are processed in accordance with our refund policy.
6. Prices:
6. 1 All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD). (ABN 97 284 431 679)
6. 2 All prices of lessons can be used for online lessons or in person lessons.
7. Health and Safety:
7. 1 Students should inform the voice instructor of any relevant health concerns.
7. 2 Each student is responsible for their own vocal health.
8. Intellectual Property:
8. 1 All lesson materials provided by BlueNote Vocals, including worksheets, exercises, and recordings, are for personal use only and may not be shared, copied, or distributed.
8. 2 Recordings of lessons are strictly prohibited, unless approved by the instructor.
9. Online Lessons and Technical Requirements:
9. 1 For online lessons, students must have access to a reliable internet connection, Zoom or Teams, and any necessary equipment (microphone, headphones, etc.) to participate fully.
9. 2 It is the student's responsibility to test their equipment and connection before each session to ensure they are able to participate without issues.
9. 3 Refunds or rescheduling will not be provided if technical issues on the student's end prevent them from attending the lesson.
9. 4 If technical issues arise on BlueNote Vocals' side, a reschedule or refund will be offered.
9. 5 Students should ensure they have a quiet, suitable environment for the lesson to minimise distractions and ensure a productive learning experience.
10. Students Under 18: Parental/Guardian Responsibility
10. 1 For students under 18, a parent or guardian must be present during the initial session.
10. 2 Parents/guardians should ensure the student has a quiet, suitable environment for the online lesson.
10. 3 Parents are also responsible for ensuring their child is equipped to engage fully in the lesson.
10. 4 BlueNote Vocals coaches have a current and valid Working With Children check, and we follow the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations to ensure a safe environment for all young students.
10. 5 Parents/guardians are responsible if BlueNote Vocals' materials and equipment are damaged, broken or stolen by the student.
10. 6 Parent/guardians are responsible for any other minor they bring onto the premises and will incur a fee if BlueNote Vocals' property and assets are damaged, broken or stolen.

11. Amendments to Terms:
11. 1 BlueNote Vocals reserves the right to update these terms and conditions at any time.
11. 2 Any changes will be posted on the website, and clients will be notified of the updates in advance. It is the student's responsibility to review the terms periodically to stay informed of any changes.
